What this blog is about

I was reading in (find the book title and other) that one writes generally for oneself. So yes, I will be mainly writing for myself, as it helps me integrate knowledge and helps me reflect.

I think one of the most important point is that the information and ideas I will share are either my opinions or my understanding of concepts which means you may indeed disagree with my opinion, or have a different understanding of specific concepts.

If so, I would love to hear from you, so we could have a civil conversations through comments, and thus co-create our understanding of the world together.

During the journey, I hope that what I will share can be helpful to individuals, families, and other mental health practitioners. A good friend of mine told me once that knowledge is power, and I am keen to share the knowledge I have gathered over the years in the different training I have had the chance to attend. In the realm of psychotherapy and mental health, training can be very expensive and finding in-depth information on types of therapies, for instance, can be difficult. Is this part of gatekeeping and elitism?

Some of that knowledge I wish I would have gained it during my training rather than afterwards, and so I hope trainees and others can gain from this.

For non-professionals, I hope some of the knowledge will help themselves make sense of their experiences, but also provides some tools for those with nervous systems that have become sensitized because of negative experiences.

For some dear fellows who like to geek-out talking about the brain and read science articles on psychotherapy-related topics, I hope they enjoy some more science-based articles.

Finally, I hope to be able to translate these articles in French and German. Another part of me that would like to do this for fun, and hoping to spread knowledge.
